Origine : Norvège

Aptitudes :Selle, bât, trait léger, travaux agricoles.

Caractère : doux mais têtu.

Morphologie :Type médioligne, de bonne taille. Hauteur au garrot : 1,31-1,44 m. Membres solides et musclés, articulations larges et sèches, tendons bien détachés, fanons touffus, paturon long, pied allongé et doté d'un ongle résistant.

Histoire : Le Fjord, l'une des races européennes les plus anciennes et les plus pures, a réussi à préserver les caractères de ses ancêtres sauvages de l'époque glaciaire.
